Senior Golang Engineer / AWS / Fully Remote (US) / $150k - $200k

My client has come back out to me with another live requirement as they continue to build on their highly skilled backend engineering team.

A bit about the company…

The organisation has been in operation for a little over 10 years, have scaled to around 350 employees across the company and have been through several rounds of funding totalling to more than $50million.  They are now on a mission to go public and have some very aggressive timelines behind this.

They have built out a cutting-edge suite of products all focused on consumer behaviour, habits, and preferences. They have been using some of the most complex Machine Learning techniques to target customers and to enable them to discover a range of new products, services, and entertainment packages. In addition, they are supplying some of the largest media outlets, television networks and AdTech companies the best insights to enable them to strategically engage with their customer’s base.

They are growing year on year, and I can honestly say that there has never been a better time to join a company like this one!

A bit about the role…

This specific team is a small team of just two now within the wider organisation. As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for building out the backend services that support the ingestion of real time data from various data sources including television networks and online subscription based streaming platforms. As the company grows, they are looking to begin ingesting data from other platforms therefore, there is a lot of greenfield work to be done around these new services.

The teams’ engineers cover everything from design through to deployment and infrastructure work as they do not have a separate DevOps team. Therefore, they are looking for engineers that have extensive experience designing, building, and deploying applications whilst building the infrastructure around them. Technologies and experience they look for in an individual include:

• Golang
• AWS/Docker/Kubernetes
• Ansible terraform are desirable would be good
• Testing experience
• Experience using distributed systems
• SME experience
• Ability to own projects end to end

On offer is a salary between $150,000 - $200,000 depending on experience along with competitive RSU’s. The company has offices within San Francisco and Austin however, this can be a fully remote role.
