Senior Python Engineer / API / AWS / $160k - $190k / Fully Remote (US)

I have partnered with a very exciting Series A funded start-up who, since inception, have gone from strength to strength and are now looking for a Senior Python Engineer to continue scaling the platform.

The company

The organisation was founded back in 2020 in the peak of COVID and have already managed to power on and secure over $25million in Series A funding. They have 20 people in the organisation at the moment, 6 of which sit in the engineering team which they are hoping to grow to 10 by the end of 2022.

They have developed an AI/ML centric platform that is used by a wide variety of customers and throughout a range of industries. The platform is used by data teams to centralize data and create metrics which can then be used by organisation to make better strategic decisions on their day to day activities. The mission is to reduce decision making times from days to minutes, improving efficiency and increasing revenue.

The company are a remote first organisation with employees located across the entirety of the US. They want people that are humble, work well within a collaborative team and that are driven to getting the job done.

The role

The platform is well established however, they have very exciting plans for it’s growth and your main responsibilities will be to build out new features on the backend, designing and implementing new APIs and scaling the database using SQL. A big task you will be involved with is extending the platform capability to onboard further customers and their data warehouses. This is fundamental for the companies growth as they look to keep up with the demand.

You will be expected to work in close conjunction with front end and full stack engineers within the team but also with the product team as you understand the requirements and needs from different customers. As this is a senior role, you will be working closely with the Head of Engineering to define the roadmap on certain features and the platform. You’ll also have an impact on the culture being an early hire and will be instrumental in laying the foundations for good practices and processes within the engineering organisation. To be considered for this position, you will need experience in the following technologies:

• 5+ years’ experience in Python
• Extensive experience designing and building API
• FastAPI or similar (Django or Flask)
• AWS
• SQL
• Data warehouse experience in BigQuery or Snowflake would be beneficial
• The passion and drive to work at and scale and early stage startup

The company are offering a salary between $160,000 - $190,000 depending on experience. This is coupled with a brilliant benefits package including 401k, unlimited PTO, full health coverage, equity, full coverage parental leave and more.
