Time Formatting in Go

Golang Live is a series of live events designed to connect the tech community and drive exposure & learning to Golang professionals. By bringing successful people together, we can add value to tech professionals who want to develop their skillset as well as tech leaders who want to develop their team.

The talk from Software Engineer Ayan George will aim to:

- Gain an appreciation for the simplicity of Go's time formatting and parsing routines.

- Develop an intuition about time formatting in Go so that you never have to refer to the documentation again.

Synopsis

Big code bases have traditionally been monolithic applications full of spaghetti code. Now we have micro services everywhere and they usually lead to spaghetti architecture. The middle ground seems okay but each service can still be hard to understand. We'll start with a little introduction to Go and its feature to structure code bases. Then, we'll see how dependencies between parts of the code base can be documented with a small open source tool. Finally, we'll explore how big code bases can be analysed and understood.
