DATAOPS/DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER –BERLIN (HYBRID/REMOTE IN GERMANY) - €85,000 + BENEFITS
THE COMPANY
A 4 year old out and out Data Start-up with ambitious goals to drive the German economy forward. Supporting some of the most important businesses - working on the most important projects - to thrive.
After a solid four years, the plan is now to enhance the SaaS offering and to continue to provide the best data solutions. Already working with some super impressive clients, they have managed to support growth of sustainable public spaces, improve trade procedures, childcare and much much more across the whole of Germany – already having profoundly improved the lives of millions of people. Pretty good going for just 4 years work, don’t you think? ?
THE ROLE
Joining a team of around 20, all in Tech and Data, you will be leading the build of the entire data platform infrastructure. As you can imagine, all public services across Germany have different types and volumes of data, and there’s a LOT of it – the problem? Nobody seems to know what to do with it or how to use it for the best. You’ll be building out a platform that can handle all of this basically. Meaning that this data can be collated and turned into actionable insights for the greater good.
There are a number of services within the SaaS platform that are at MVP stage but are not yet launched so there’s a lot of work to be done with massive scope. To get there, you’ll be working really closely with the wider Engineering teams to continuously improve the tools and the platform as a whole. You’ll be involved in designing and implementing data frameworks for ingestion, automating the collection of data and setting up a shiny new cloud infrastructure with automated CICD practices.

THE SKILLS
Experience within:
- Software Engineering/Data Engineering within a Data Platform function
- Building scalable data infrastructure on the cloud
- Python as a programming language
- Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CICD
- Modern data stack tools, ideally Airflow & dbt.
