Senior Software Engineer – TypeScript – Fintech – Up to £90,000 + equity

The Company

The product that this business have built combines Fintech with 'Tech for Good'. Unique, right?

The goal of the business is to ensure that people of all incomes, backgrounds & financial situations are able to access the financial support that they need - not just the wealthiest 10%. 

Access to the product is sold to businesses who in turn give access to their employees as part of their benefits package. The user then fills in some basic information about themselves and the platforms internal AI system creates a bespoke support package for that person based on their situation. It also gives them access to live events with specialists who can help further! 

Because of how closely you will be working with the founding team on a day to day basis, they would like you to be based within commuting distance of London so that you can visit regularly. This may be once a week, once a month – they’re pretty flexible!

The business are heavily funded & are due to go through another round in Q2 of this year. They’re backed by the largest tech investment firm in the US, so they aren’t going anywhere any time soon!

The Role

You’ll be joining a team of five engineers, that will be at least nine before the end of 2023. 

The platform was launched last year & it has gone down incredibly well with its users so far. However, there are obviously a lot of improvements to be made, new features to build & deliver – as well as being actively involved with the brainstorming to determine what could make the platform even better. The goal of this position is that within the next 2-3 years, you will become the CTO. This means you need to be energetic, enthusiastic & have a strong technical understanding across the board.

Due to the product operating within the finance sector & having AI / Machine Learning at it’s core, prior experience in any of these areas is a huge plus – though is certainly not a requirement.

The product is built in a full TypeScript stack (React, Node.js, AWS, Next.js,, Nest.js GraphQL). The amount of frontend/backend work you do will vary depending on the project being delivered but you should have at least some knowledge across both sides of the stack!
