The product is pretty cool; In short, it identifies areas of the developing world where public infrastructures could be implemented, improved or made accessible. Using data gathered during the identification stage, they can highlight opportunities and processes to improve services like healthcare, education, agriculture etc. and the projects can be ran and measured using the software you’ll be building,

After a solid 4 years so far, they’re entering a pivotal growth phase following investment. This investment is mainly being used to grow out the team to continue, and expand on the life changing work that they’re currently doing – hoping to double within the year!

THE ROLE

If you’d like to do work that will positively impact over 2 billion – yes, BILLION – people’s lives then keep reading.

You’ll be joining a diverse, collaborative and cross functional (albeit small for now) team working on a project which is focussed around the data infrastructure alongside the biggest and most impressive authorities globally (hint, not just globally, but universally… ?). You’ll be integrating unstructured data streams from things like satellite imagery, surveys and sensory data to improve predictions on infrastructure outcomes to allow stakeholders to make key decisions.

Due to the size of the scale up plans, you will join as a Senior developer but will have the opportunity to fast track your way towards leadership/management if you want to go down that route.

Experience or knowledge of mapping based software or GIS understanding would be amazing, but don’t worry if you don’t have this. If you’re open to learning, they’ll teach you. They really want team members who want to become experts and they’re happy to help you get there. The main focus right now is what you’ve done with technology and how you’ve done it, as opposed to what tools you’ve done it with.

THE SKILLS

Ideally, you’ll have some experience of the following:

• Python (v3+)
• Experience designing and building out backend services
• Some knowledge of relational databases would be great (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ORM)
• Docker & Kubernetes would also be a nice to have
